According to the latest startup news, The Indian government on Friday declared the result of the second edition of its startup ranking for the Indian States. The order was proclaimed by the Indian Union minister of commerce and Industry - Piyush Goyal, via a virtual salutation commemoration.
The second edition States’ Startup Ranking Exercise was administered by the DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) to promote competitiveness and motivate states and Union Territories of India to act proactively towards flourishing and uplifting the startup ecosystem.
The states' startup ranking structure 2019 has seven comprehensive reform section. They consist of 30 action pointers from institutional aid, expediting compliance, relaxation in public procurement standards, incubation assistance, venture funding aid, and various others, as per latest startup news.

In total, 22 India States and 3 union territories became a part of this competition, and a jury of autonomous experts assessed them. All the jury carried out a comprehensive evaluation of the responses over different parameters.
Talking about the results, as per the states' startup ranking is concerned; Gujarat and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands were honored with the best performer's tag in 2019.
As per latest startup news, Karnataka and Kerala's state was named the "Top Performers" as per the reports from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
Next, states majorly, including Maharashtra, Odisha, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Chandigarh, were crowned as the "Leaders" and Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Telangana, and Haryana were listed as the "Aspiring Leaders."
According to the decision, other remaining states such as Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh were classified under the tag of "emerging startup ecosystem."

Addressing this auspicious occasion, Piyush Goyal, an Indian politician and the current Minister of Railways and Minister of Commerce and Industry in the Government Of India, said that startups possess Out-of-the-box thinking, and are solution-oriented, who gaze at new and new ideas.
He further added that the Prime Minister has been thoroughly appreciative and supportive of backing entrepreneurs of upcoming startups in India who are essential from the point of job production, increasing economic activity, and people's prosperity and accomplishment.
Mr. Goyal also mentioned that states and centers are getting together to compete and cooperate to support Upcoming Startups in India, and it is a crucial development. He said that the rankings, aside from aiding the states, will also help entrepreneurs grow and propel new ventures.
